From a food van to your table

Simply Thai is a family story — one that started with a mother, a food van, and the kind of cooking people still talk about decades later. Matt and Vonne brought that legacy to North Carolina, and it's the foundation of everything we serve.

Chan, the food van lady

In 1980s Visalia, California, Matt and Vonne's mother Chan built a devoted following selling Southeast Asian food from a van. Decades on, her regulars still remember her by name — the "Food Van Lady" who cooked with generosity and no pretense.
